Circus Sensible are a wonderful addition to any event! We have been lucky enough to have booked them for the Dunblane Fling for a few years now and they are a brilliant draw. The children love them and the skills they teach and they are easy and helpful to deal with. Don't hesitate to use them, you won't regret it!

" A big thank you to Circus Sensible's Ian for a wonderful day yesterday at Glendale Primary.  The kids had a ball and it was lovely to see their smiling faces.... a little happy normality in what has been a very restricted school year "

"I just wanted to feedback to you following the workshop last week. We were really pleased with the workshop. Obby managed the young people really well. As you may be aware we are a fostering organisation so all of the young people in attendance are currently living with Foster Parents. They can be challenging at times and when together in a group this can heighten the behaviours they exhibit. Obby showed the young people how to use all the different equipment clearly and with humour. He spent time with those that struggled and encouraged them when necessary. He was able to sense when to move things along and made sure that everyone felt included, even staff! At the end of the day, young people had the opportunity to show Foster Parents what they had learnt which was lovely to see”

"Can’t even begin to tell you how much everyone enjoyed the circus skills workshop. Kat and her assistant were amazing – brilliant personalities and managed a group of 21 with absolute ease. Several members of the team have now purchased juggling balls to perfect their skills for our next team day! Possible merchandising opportunity for you at the end of skills workshops? I will indeed be calling on your services again personally, and will leave an excellent maximum star Facebook review at end of week."

" Thank you so much for arranging things for yesterday. The day went really well - a huge thanks to Jon and Kyle who were brilliant with the children and 'big kids' too! As you said they really worked round us and enabled the day to be relaxed and fun. These days are always hard on the parents - really mixed emotions, but the two guys kept things moving along for the children and got everyone involved. I think it was a really positive day. You may have new recruit to help with your annual festival in Scotland. Shuna, one of our play therapists does circus skills too and was chatting to Jon and Kyle. Great how these days pan out....... Thanks again ”

" Thanks so much for the excellent day Circus Sensible put on for us, the whole school loved it and I have already had pupils asking me when I am getting you back!  The performers were great with all of our pupils and staff, all the activities were targeted and suitable for the needs of each group and they accommodated any changes we needed to make throughout the day too.  I would highly recommend Circus Sensible as a great day to any school and look forward to working with you again in the future. Please pass on  my thanks to the four performers again for the excellent day they gave the kids "

Over the Wall Charity, Scotland
I work for Over the Wall, a children's charity that provide residential camps for children who face health challenges or serious illness and their families. Circus Sensible recently attended two of camps in Scotland and we were blown away. The instructors provided a wide range of different skills and equipment, spending time to teach the campers how to use each one efficiently before giving them some freedom at the end to attempt the things they felt most comfortable with. Both instructors were fantastic at keeping a wide range of ages fully engaged and were able to adapt everything to suit every child's needs and abilities. This is the second time we have booked Circus Sensible, and they have never disappointed.

The Science of Circus

"Complex tasks such as juggling produce significant changes to the structure of the brain, according to scientists at Oxford University.
In the journal, Nature Neuroscience, the scientists say they saw a 5% increase in white matter - the cabling network of the brain." In brief, learning a new skill such as Juggling can hard wire our brains to work better and faster! Circus skills help develop and improve concentration skills. This is particularly evident in those children with shorter attention spans. When we run Circus skills workshops in schools the teachers are often amazed that one or more children who usually have a problem concentrating are doing better than anyone else in the class! Learning Circus skills also offers great benefits in terms of physical co-ordination and physical fitness. Circus workshops fit very well into the school curriculum under PE and co-ordination development. In fact there are many areas where Circus workshops offer great opportunities for curriculum enrichment.

Activities such as Circus skills have been used with great success as an educational tool, as an aid to learning as well as therapeutically with children at risk and with children with special needs. Autistic children have been observed to respond particularly well to Circus skills in schools. Circus skills are an opportunity for children and adults to discover and develop skills such as Concentration, Information retention, Concept visualisation, hand eye co-ordination and self awareness. These skills can then be used in many other settings including social situations and in conventional educational settings whilst learning the core subjects.
