“ I just wanted to say a huge thank-you to Circus Sensible and particularly Gary, our entertainer, for keeping the children amused all afternoon from 2pm to 5pm at our cold and windy Platinum Jubilee village picnic in Shelley! He was brilliant – and allowed any number of children to join each of his workshops – and he kept up the pace and the banter all afternoon! The event was a great success for those that braved the weather – and it was all down to Gary who turned the afternoon into pure sunshine! Please pass on our grateful thanks to him, and to your company for seamless booking and support! We wouldn’t hesitate to book you again!"

“Obby was Fantastic! The pupils loved him and so did the staff. His assembly had everyone laughing. The sessions worked very well and matched the ability of the pupils. He demonstrated and supported pupils in a very caring manner. Obby was punctual and polite. We would love to have him back. Pupil's comments included: 'I'm going to buy a diablo this weekend’ 'That was great’ 'Obby was brilliant’ 'We're going to set up a circus skills group’ “

“ I'd  just like to e mail to say what an amazing job your team did over the last few days. The lads were superb and all our staff were so impressed by their enthusiasm and teaching skills. Even our more reluctant students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and made great progress.
Thanks again and we are really looking forward to seeing you again in August, this time with the big top on the field. Please do use me as a reference should you need to on any publicity.”

We have received some lovely feedback about you and the team and wanted to share. Most teaching staff who passed me by on the day commented on how friendly and polite your team were, and how much the children loved the shows and workshops. One local resident said she could hear some much laughter and shouting throughout the day which in her words ‘was so lovely to hear and what it’s all about’, adding she ‘wished she could bottle it up’. Another teacher has just messaged to say how impressed she was at how fab the circus team were with the SEN children. They spent time familiarising them with the tent, allowing them to look around and behind things, talking to them one on one to ensure they felt more comfortable with them. It’s just so lovely to know that when you put on big events like this you still take the time to ensure you are being inclusive for every child. And personally from me, I was impressed about how hardworking and energetic you all are. You were at the school from 6:30am, and you didn’t leave until after 6pm. The team spent all day entertaining and never once dipped in energy and enthusiasm despite how tired you must have been. We worked you hard and was worth every single penny."

“ I just wanted to say an absolutely massive thank you for helping to organise today and tell you how amazing the performers were. Every single adult and child in school had the most amazing day with memories that will last them forever. The performers were so good with the children and extremely polite and professional"

The Science of Circus

"Complex tasks such as juggling produce significant changes to the structure of the brain, according to scientists at Oxford University.
In the journal, Nature Neuroscience, the scientists say they saw a 5% increase in white matter - the cabling network of the brain." In brief, learning a new skill such as Juggling can hard wire our brains to work better and faster! Circus skills help develop and improve concentration skills. This is particularly evident in those children with shorter attention spans. When we run Circus skills workshops in schools the teachers are often amazed that one or more children who usually have a problem concentrating are doing better than anyone else in the class! Learning Circus skills also offers great benefits in terms of physical co-ordination and physical fitness. Circus workshops fit very well into the school curriculum under PE and co-ordination development. In fact there are many areas where Circus workshops offer great opportunities for curriculum enrichment.

Circus Skills are fun, for children AND adults!
Activities such as Circus skills have been used with great success as an educational tool, as an aid to learning as well as therapeutically with children at risk and with children with special needs. Autistic children have been observed to respond particularly well to Circus skills in schools. Circus skills are an opportunity for children and adults to discover and develop skills such as Concentration, Information retention, Concept visualisation, hand eye co-ordination and self awareness. These skills can then be used in many other settings including social situations and in conventional educational settings whilst learning the core subjects.
